Certified Lead Renovator - Initial

March 15, 2023 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (PDT)

Description

Does your business involve renovating, repairing, or painting structures built before 1978? Ensure your work complies with the EPA’s Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program. This initial Certified Lead Renovator all-day class will give your business the RRP certification needed to comply with the RRP Program. We bring a blend of easy compliance, practical application, and accurate answers to your questions. In addition to the EPA curriculum, we will provide valuable insights on how L&I views lead-related work, along with other free resources to help your company stay in compliance. About the EPA’s RRP Program: Under the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting Program, construction firms must apply for and receive EPA Certification to disturb paint as part of their work in pre-1978 housing and child-occupied facilities. In addition, all of these jobs must be supervised by Certified Lead Renovators, specifically individuals who have completed an EPA-accredited, full-day training course. Firms knowingly or willingly violating the RRP Program requirements could incur penalties of up to $10,000 per day per violation and/or face imprisonment. The Certified Lead Renovator training course is required for any contractor involved in any activity that will (or has the potential to) disturb six square feet of lead-based paint in a room or 20 square feet on the exterior. The rule does not apply to minor maintenance or repair activities; however, window replacement is not considered minor maintenance or repair. Notes: Name, home address, and birth date are required at registration. Seating is limited, so be sure to register as soon as possible. Please bring lunch, snacks and beverages, as food and drink cannot be distributed due to COVID restrictions. Renewal is required every five years. If you renew through an online program, renewal is required every three years. Instructor: Northwest Independent Contractors Association Dale Yerabek, Northwest Independent Contractors Association
